Pre-trip: Hong Kong Trip 2014! (HK Day 0!!!)

Ms. W, Ms. Y and myself have been friends since secondary school days, well not that long since we are not that old, but in our roughly 9 years of friendship, we have NEVER traveled together. We talked about it a lot, but it was not until 16 January 2014, because of the promotion which Scoot was having, that we finally booked our trip for real!!!

This would be the first time the four of us (together with Ms. Y's boyfriend, hereby known as Mr. D) would be traveling together. The round trip air tickets via Scoot cost us each about $185, which was very well within our budget. However then the big question came for us - ACCOMMODATION!

Since my recent Korea trip, I have certified AIRBNB to be a reliable accommodation search engine for affordable accommodation abroad, but due to certain factors, we decided not to reside in apartments or hostel for our 5 days stay in Hong Kong. So, we had to upgrade to hotels, and as such, our budget for accommodation also had to increase. Researching for a hotel in Hong Kong is not difficult, but to find a hotel with a room which could easily accommodate 4 adults (1 queen and 2 single beds) did not come all that easy after all. 

I know that we will eventually have to decide on somewhere to stay and I refused to let this "problem" trouble me or spoil my excitement for the trip for I know my Lord shall surely supply my every need! 

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

 There is slightly more than 2 months to our trip to Hong Kong and I'm proud to announce that as my faith believed that we will surely find an accommodation, we have booked DORSETT MONGKOK for our 5 nights stay whilst in Hong Kong. The family room will cost us $302 SGD each, which means our cost of flights and accommodation totaled up to approximately $487 per pax, $13 less than what we had originally budgeted. And we booked it directly through the hotel website as that gave us the best price compared to the other booking websites.

I have informed the three of them with great relief that our accommodation "issue" have finally been settled but well, it seems that the three of them are not too excited about it, maybe it is because there is still a good two months to the trip. Whatever it is, I am very thankful that the Lord I trust to supply all our every needs shall continue to bless us during this trip, even through all our differences, we shall find JOY in the trip!

1 more month to our Hong Kong Trip! This time next month we'll be in Hong Kong, how exciting! And good news, my companions are finally getting more excited about the trip, bombarding the group chat with their excitement. And as for me, a thought suddenly surfaced in me, and that is, being a TVB drama freak, having watched TVB dramas since 2006 and even picked up Cantonese, the drama scenes are going to come alive for me!

And we're at Day 4 of our trip. And finally we're travelling out of HK!!!  If you were to ask if for my favourite highlight for the trip, it would have to be Shunde 顺德. We didn't get much done in a day but the whole feel of the city is one that I like. Their pace is not as rushed as Hong Kong and it seems that the people appreciate life better. How to get tickets to Shunde 顺德?  We bought our tickets from China Travel Services, but I believe you may be able to get the tickets online too. We had to pay an admin fee of 12 HKD when we purchase our tickets through China Travel Services. One way ticket to Shunde will cost HKD 240 each (~SGD41). The ferry timings are 8.30am , 9.30am , 11.00am , 3.00pm and 6.00pm . We departed our hotel at about 7.15am, took the cab to China HK City, which took us just 15 mins ride from our hotel. Dream Come True 2013 - Day 1 (of 7) in Korea - Jeju-do (10 Dec 2013, Tuesday)

After procrastinating for a good one month after returning from this all-time favourite trip of my life (well at least up until 2013), I have FINALLY settled down to blog about it... Winter in Korea 2019: Day 7: Seoul (Last Day of 2019)

We were thankful that we could get an extension to check out at 3pm so we headed out to a few spots before we leave Seoul today. Since Sinseol-dong is part of the Line 2, we were aiming to take direct line to Samseong. The line stopped at Seongsu and we didn't know we were supposed to transfer to another platform to be on the same line. We ended up on the line towards City Hall, and we alighted at Wangsimni station. When we were transiting, we noticed this bakery (and considering that we were hungry), we bought this yummy garlic bread! Such a good Garlic Bread (with cheese and egg) - at 3900 won Then we went on our way to Seolleung station to change to Samseong station.
