好玩好吃好買2014 - 第二天 (HK Day 2!!!)

Pleased with a good night's rest, we took the 9am shuttle bus to Mong Kok MTR station, this time training to Jordan MTR station as we wanted to visit Australia Dairy Company for breakfast. Do not be turned off by the name because they have a lot more to offer than one can think.

We took Exit C2 and was happy that it took us less than 2 minutes walk to reach our destination. And we know we were on the right track when we saw a line of queue. However we simply queued for about 15 minutes and we were able to get a seat.

We couldn't wait to try the famous steamed egg pudding

Right: Double Milk Pudding

Breakfast set

Legendary scrambled eggs

My personal favourite had to be the Steamed Almond Egg White Milk Pudding (HKD$22/SGD$3.60).

The breakfast set was good too. I am not a big fan of scrambled eggs but I actually like this one.

Then we headed back to the station, surprised to find a vending machine selling umbrellas.

Trained to Lai King MTR station to interchange to Tung Chung MTR station.

It was a short 5 minutes walk to the cable car station. We bough tickets for 1 +1 (1 crystal cable car ride + 1 standard cable car ride), which the usual price was HKD $210 (~SGD$34) each, but we paid HKD $189 (~SGD$31) when we flashed our Ocean Park tickets.

Happy with our discounted tickets, off we went to the queue for Crystal cable car ride up. The Crystal cable ride queue was rather short, maybe partially because not many people were gamed for the transparent glass floor of the crystal cable car which enabled the riders to view the bottom.

The sea underneath our feet

The four other passengers that boarded the same cable car as us
It was quite amazing to see two Korean ladies, despite of their fear of height still patching up their make up at the heights we were at, and the other two ladies were busy playing with their phone taking photos. Seeing the four of them truly reflected the impact social media and smart phones have on the younger generations.

And after about a 20 minutes cable car ride, we finally arrived!

Running Man Episode 73 in Ngong Ping

This is the store where all the Running Man members were looking for the white-hair Mr. Chung was

Misty Misty...
It was so misty we could hardly see the structures clearly...

Walking towards Po Lin Monastery
I learnt from my friend that they serve good vegetarian food at the Po Lin Monastery so were going to stop there for a meal.

Onwards to the Restaurant
And we were told that we were required to purchase Meal Tickets, and so we proceeded to the Meal Ticket Office.

Meal Ticket Office
The meals were priced at about HKD $88 (~SGD$14) per person so we decided to give it a miss.

Stairs up to see the Big Buddha
Have heard that the scenery from the top of the Big Buddha was rather pretty and so we had initially planned to climb. However, since it was misty and due to a little time constraint, we decided to give it a miss instead.

Feeling hungry, we decided to grab a few small bites and we totally don't regret it!

The store
Street side food

The aunty told us to check out the prices on the wall rather than asking her

Yummy corn! Unique taste with a pinch of salt

Soya beancurd with a tint of ginger, good whether cold or hot

They also have one of the best tea eggs I have ever tasted!

And with that, we began walking back to the cable car terminal to catch the cable car ride down back to Tung Chung.

Can you spot the Big Buddha?

And while we were returning to the cable car terminal, the sky started to cleared up a little bit and the structures were more visible compared to our walk up. The body of the Big Buddha is slightly visible in the background if one stares for long enough.

Colourful donuts
The same donuts which attracted me when we first passed the entrance of Ngong Ping.

Then we proceeded to take the cable car ride down back to Tung Chung MTR station.

View on the way down
When we arrived, we only had time to briefly check out the citygate outlets.

Then we boarded the train at Tung Chung MTR station to train back to Kowloon...

Our next agenda was to visit the Avenue of Stars at Tsim Sha Tsui. We trained to Tsim Sha Tsui and took exit J which led us to the Avenue of Stars.

Street Map with Local Tourist Attractions
The maps made it really easy for us to find the right exit to lead us to where we had wanted to go.

Nice view of the Victoria Harbour
As we were walking, we were attracted by the shredded squid smell and decided to give in and got one to share.

Shredded Squid

Walked for quite a while before we came across a few hand prints which we were more familiar with such as that of Andy Lau.

Bruce Lee
AND.... I finally found the bridge which I have been wanting to see. I think I was more excited to see this bridge than the Avenue of Stars.

This was exactly where that scene was filmed

Super contented after finding this bridge which I saw in the drama, we took the underpass back to the train station and exit through B2 to get to the main streets of Tsim Sha Tsui. We were tired from the whole day's of walking and so we wanted to find somewhere to rest our feets. And that was how we ended up at 許留山Hui Lau Shan Healthy Dessert.

Hui Lau Shan

There are many branches of 許留山Hui Lau Shan Healthy Dessert spread all across Hong Kong.

The branch we went to was:

49 Carnarvon Road
11.30am - 11.30pm

Arranged to meet my Uni friend for dinner so we sat at the dessert place until my friend reached Tsim Sha Tsui. When she arrived, I separated from the rest to spend some quality time with A.W.. So excited to finally get to meet her and properly catch up after a good 16 months since we last met back in Kuala Lumpur. A.W. decided on the dinner venue and it was Japanese cuisine, and we both loved it!

After a satisfying meal, we went to walk around the streets of Tsim Sha Tsui.
Lung Shing Dispensary
Heard that Lung Shing Dispensary sells lots of value for price items, and so it was also one of the reasons we wanted to drop by Tsim Sha Tsui.

Bonjour
But compared to Lung Shing Dispensary, which was crowded and had unfriendly sales people, I preferred shopping at Bonjour. Just like Sasa, Colormix and many other cosmetics shops that carry a variety of brands, they are spread all across Hong Kong and they aren't hard to come by.

And after a series of shopping, we decided to end the night with dessert at The Dessert Kitchen.

Pupple In Love 紫葡之恋
With such a romantic name, Pupple in Love is my personal recommendation, loved it and wouldn't mind going back for more!

The dessert shop was found opposite Caterking Dim Sum.

And with that, I said goodbye to A.W. as I reunited with the rest of the group and we headed back to the hotel together.
