好玩好吃好買2014 - 第四天 (HK Day 4!!!)

Time truly flies when we're having lots of fun and we're at the fourth day of our Hong Kong trip!

First agenda - Food Galore in Central!

We wondered why all the food good was surrounded in Central area. And good food is worth the wait because we walked for about half an hour and even up a steep long flight of stairs before we found this GEM!!!

First stop - 勝香園 (Sing Heung Yuen)

Inspired by many TVB dramas and of course including the latest one that I watched before heading to Hong Kong - Swipe Tap Love.

Swipe Tap Love Episode 11
Tomato and Egg Macaroni (our favourite!!!)

All our breakfast combined!

Crispy Toast (檸蜜脆脆) and this even reminded me of Mickey Mouse!

Condensed Milk and Peanut Butter Toast

Crispy Bun with Pork Chop (found it a little hard to bite)

Iced Sprite with Salted Lemon (Must try!)

Not sure what to order, check out their menu!

Next stop was Wanton Noodles at Mak's Noodles

Menu

Signature Dish

Honestly I was a little disappointed at the Wanton Noodles, I guess it has been over-rated but it does look nice and tasty on the photos. Well maybe it is just me because the rest seemed to enjoy the noodles.

Mak's Noodles
77 Wellington St. Central, Hong Kong

Their competitor is just opposite, maybe next time I'll try that to justify the standard...

Tsim Chai Kee
However something that caught my sight due to the queue outside was this Vietnamese Restaurant named Nha Trang. I am sure for people to queue during lunch hours, it must have its unique taste. I've listed it into my list of foods to be checked out for my next trip.

Nha Trang
And we're not leaving Hong Kong without a good piece of EGG TART!

Best Egg Tart I have ever tasted, the egg simply melts in the mouth!

Tai Cheong Bakery
Tai Cheong Bakery
35 Lyndhurst Terrace, Central, Hong Kong
Mon – Sat                         7.30am – 8.30pm
Sun and Public Holidays     8.30am – 7.30pm

Onto THE PEAK!

We had initially wanted to cab to the peak tram station to take the tram ride up but due to slight communication problems, which I am thankful for, we ended up cabbing all the way up to the peak, which I believe cost us about HKD$60 (~SGD$10) for us four to get up to the peak compared to the tram which would have cost us HKD$80 each for a return ticket. However it was unusually misty and thus we weren't able to view the scenic view of Hong Kong from the Peak as beautifully as we thought we would have seen. So we took the time to shop around Peak Galleria instead.

They have Tai Cheong Bakery even in the Peak Galleria

Iconic of Hong Kong - their Tram Bus

Next in our itinerary was the Madame Tussauds Museum!

Madame Tussauds Museum
Woah he is tall!
Jay Chou
Latest addition - Huang Xiao Ming

Andy Lau

Albert Einstein

IRON MAN!
I would say many of the wax figurines were so well done I almost mistook many for real.

And then we took a cab down from the Peak to Causeway Bay, which cost us about HKD $80 (~ SGD$13).

View on the way down the Peak
And like always, the sky began to clear up only when we were leaving the Peak. Admiring the scenery from inside the cab, we soon reached our destination.

30 Jardine’s Bazaar

It is just round the corner if we exit from the Causeway Bay MTR station Exit F2, turn left and cross the pedestrian crossing and turn right and keep walking ahead and soon the shop was in sight. We were joined by Ms. W's friend who had just recently moved to work in Macau.

Next highlight of Causeway Bay was Via Tokyo for MATCHA desserts because Ms. Y was a big fan of MATCHA!

VIA TOKYO

Matcha Affogato and Sample Set

Love my ice cream!
Matcha Latte, how would you bear to drink this?

The cafe capacity was about 20 pax and so we queued for about 20 minutes before we were given a table.

9.30am - 10.30pm

And afterwhich I met up with my Uni friend A.W for dinner again, but this time round with her mum and her boyfriend.

Due to their warm hospitality, we ordered a whole table filled with food but I didn't want to hold up everyone with the dinner so I didn't take a picture of every single food.

Shop B221A, B2, Times Square
1 Matheson Street, Causeway Bay
10:00-22:00

Filling our stomachs with our the yummy food, we decided to walk around Times Square before checking out this famous dessert place which A.W have recommended me the other day.

Was attracted by a street side performance at the arena of Times Square

Our orders, my personal favourite was my order of Honeydew Sago.
Next time I'm definitely trying their Durian dessert!

The bill

All of us ordered a dessert each and it totaled up to HKD $107 (~ SGD $17), I am sure we have to pay at least twice the price for the same quality dessert in Singapore.

Instructions to get to the dessert place:
It’s very near Times Square. Take the escalator up from the MTR exit A to the main atrium. Turn to the left (you should see Uniqulo across the street) and there will be a very small traffic junction. Cross straight (not across; do not cross to Uniqulo side, just keep walking on the times square side) , walk straight, turn right into a street and turn right again at a junction. Continue walking and Cong Sao Dessert is found on the right.

Cong Sao Dessert
11 Yiu Wa St, Causeway Bay
12.30pm - 12.30am

And with that, I returned back to the hotel alone.

So blessed by A.W's Mum!
