Dream Come True 2013 - Day 6 in Korea - Seoul (15 Dec 2013, Sunday)

Our last FULL day in Seoul and much excitement awaits!

First stop - Lotte World Amusement Park!

Entrance into Lotte World!
Oh well I wasn't as excited as Ms. K for the amusement park as I wasn't a full-on amusement park fans since I didn't quite like taking rides... So I have neglected to consider that Sunday would be a bad day to visit the amusement park as it was filled with people and children especially. This made the queue lines for the rides much longer and I believe we spent more time queuing for the rides than taking rides. Thus, if you are a big fan on amusement park rides, it would be recommended that you choose a non-weekend day for the Lotte World on your itinerary...

Our tickets for Lotte World!
I wanted to simply go in with a general admission ticket because I didn't exactly desired to go on the rides, but Ms. K blessed me with an upgrade so we were both able to enjoy the rides!

The first thing that caught my eyes in the Lotte World is the posters on the walls! All the handsome and pretty Kpop stars!

Ice Rink in the midst of the amusement park

The first ride we took - 4D Shooting Theatre
The first ride we went on together was the 4D Shooting Theatre, basically we wore the 3D glasses and it was like a battlefield whereby you can shot down the baddies!

Then we proceeded to the Drunken Basket

The hot air balloon
We wanted to take the hot air balloon initially but the queue ended up to be too long so we had to give it a miss... I believe it would have given a nice bird-eye's view of the indoor section of the amusement park!

Musical performance

Musical performance
We stopped by the arena for a while to watch the musical performance incorporating many famous Kpop music!

The Conquiscador

The Conquiscador
Next, we went on the Conquiscador! I didn't expect the ship to be swung that high so if you are not a full-on adrenaline rush fans, I would suggest you don't take the side seats, maybe try the more central seats instead.

Gyrodrop!
Gyrodrop!

Ms. K went on the Gyrodrop ride, whereby the riders would be launched up high in a revolving manner before punching down at a fast speed. Ms. K commented that it wasn't as challenging as she had expected but I totally admire her courage to go on the ride when the temperature was actually a good -5 degrees at least...

Lake

We spotted a lake in the midst of the outdoor sections of the amusement park and I can't help but capture a photo because this was the first time we had seen a FROZEN lake!!!

The waters were all FROZEN!!!

Outdoor Lotte World

Then we had enough of the outdoor rides, plus it was getting quite cold and the queues were getting longer, so we proceeded indoors.

Last ride - Jungle Adventure
Honestly I enjoyed the Jungle Adventure, it is so much better and more thrilling than the Madagascar Ride in Universal Studios Singapore. So that concluded our adventure in Lotte World and we went on to our next agenda - NAMSAN TOWER!!!

We trained to Chungmuro Station, went out of Exit 2 to the right of Daehan Multiplex entrance, and we took bus 5 all the way up to the tower and it cost us only 850 won each pax, it would have cost us 8000 won if we were to have taken the cable car. Alternate bus options include bus 2 and 3 from the same bus-stop.

Something I was thankful about was that the heavy DSLR was totally worth carrying around especially when we were trying to capture nice photos of the night scenery of Seoul!

Lighted Christmas Tree
Then we bought tickets to go up the Observatory. Had wanted to visit the Teddy Bear Museum at the Namsan Tower but it was closed so had to give it a miss! I am definitely coming back to Korea again to visit their Teddy Bear Museum!!!

Went to take the elevator up to the Observatory

The TV that was showing in the elevator as we ascended into the skies of Seoul

Night view of Seoul from the Observatory

Nature republic in the high levels of Namsan Tower
I was surprised to find a Nature Republic store even in the high levels of the Tower... am assuming that there is no height and time limit for cosmetics shopping while in Korea!

Next up was DINNER!

Well we were busy visiting the tourist attractions that we hadn't sat down to have a proper meal the whole day until DINNER! We were deciding where to have dinner when Ms. K remembered that I always wanted to try the Patbingsu at Sinchon. It was quite a detour but she said since it was our last night and we wouldn't have a chance to try it otherwise, so off we went to Sinchon for our dinner and dessert of the day!

Research showed that Homilbat offered really good Patbingsu and bloggers have recommended that if you do not like the queues, then one should give Homilbat a miss. That didn't really come into our consideration so off we went to Homilbat.

How to get there? Line 2 Sinchon Stn. Exit 4  (or the U-PLEX Exit). Go through the mall, and keep walking straight (say about 300m?) and you would see a Mos Burger, then go up the escalator where you will reach the huge red pipe with a mirror. Once you're out of the mall, you would be facing the main road. Position yourself such that you would cross opposite and stay on the side of the Krispy Kreme. Keep walking for a good 500m and turn right. Keep following the MEGABOX direction and you would find yourself at the Homilbat in no time. The walk from the station to Homilbat took us about 20 - 30 minutes.

Once we located Homilbat, we asked what time they would be closed before we headed nearby for dinner.
When we had found Homilbat, it was around 8.15pm and we were told they close at 9.30pm.

We took a quick stroll around before we found the following place for dinner, definitely a good option! And my colleague had recommended for me to try the Andong jjimdak and I didn't even think I would have the chance to try it. Highly recommended!

Andong Jjimdak - where we had dinner

When first presented to us

After it cooked for longer

Dinner tasted awesome, plus the fact that it was the first meal we had properly sit down to have for the day.

Then we could wait no longer, or rather I could wait no longer to try the Patbingsu I have been thinking about since I arrived in Seoul.

Homilbat

Address: 43 Sinchonyeok-ro

In we went!

Tried the Fruits Patbingsu

Dessert for two

The good thing about Homilbat is that they separated their red beans from their shaved ice. The ice felt so soft it melted immediately in the tongue. It was as if we were eating snow... Ms. K loved their red bean... and the best thing, since it was winter, there was no queue!!! IT was definitely more than satisfactory and that was a nice ending to our short trip in Korea!
