2D1N getaway to JB!!! [Day 1]

It's been such a while since I last travelled with WF and YY (you may recall our last trip was to Hong Kong) and so here we go!

So thankful that WF steer-headed this trip, from booking the train tickets, the accommodation, to the hair and massage appointments, it had to be one of the most restful trip thus far!

Book train tickets here. You may want to book your train tickets one month in advance, I heard they get wiped out very quickly.

We met at 11am at Nex to have breakfast. After a week long business trip to Sydney, I wanted something local so we went for Yakun.

We took a grab from Nex to Woodlands Train Checkpoint - cost us about SGD$19 (and YY had promo code so it was SGD$15 for us).

So we arrived an hour earlier than our train departure and waited around till we were allowed to go in. We booked for the 1.30pm departure. From the Singapore side, you would be clearing customs first for SG, then for Malaysia. Make sure your passport is stamped correctly before you board the train. There's basically no photography allowed until you get into the train.

5 min journey

The journey took around 5 mins and we arrived in JB and cleared customs in no time.

And we are here in JB!!!

After we arrived, we walked through Komtar to get to the opposite side where our AirBnB is.

Heading towards Komtar

And we booked for a night stay at Suasana suites.

As per the instructions of the AirBnB host, we collected the access card from the mailroom.

And first things first was to check into our accommodation and put our things down.

Then we booked a grab to get to our hair and massage appointments at Paradigm Mall. The ride cost us RM21. You can opt to pay in cash.

Very very satisfied with the service here! My hair was managed mainly by the Director Stylist Miyu (ig: number76_miyu) and it was super good! The cut, treatment and colour took us slightly less than 2 hours. Be sure to call ahead and make appointment if you know you're coming.

And since we ended earlier than expected, and we had to wait around for our massage appointments, we went to have Emack & Bolio's! The last time I tried it (and love it) was when I had it at Jewel.

Black Raspberry-chip Yoghurt

Yes, we shared this among the three of us. Cost: RM24

I choose the Thai Aromatherapy and was given a soothing experience. And it was almost 7.30pm when all of these were done and we were famished! We took a grab ride to Taman Sentosa for dinner, about RM26.

The star of the night: Salted Egg Crab

And all in all, these cost us RM227

We saw a Family Mart opposite our dinner place and went in to get ourselves some drinks.

So sweet of WF to get us Christmas presents while YY and I was having our massage done

And that's all for the first fruitful day!
