Layover in Hong Kong - 30 Jun 2018 (Saturday)



Layover in Hong Kong for the 2nd time, and this time for a longer duration, I remember to get my Airport Express ticket at the airport counter this time. 😂

Time check: 7am!



First stop: Check in for my next flight! 

One of the things I love about Hong Kong is how they have conveniently placed check in counters in the city so you don't necessarily have to be at the airport 2 hours in advance to ensure you check in on time and that buys me more time to spend in the city! 

Take the train to Hong Kong station, which will take you less than 30 mins! 


Take the lift to L2 to check in

Head to the Island Line
Time check: 7.45am

Follow the signage to take the Island Line (Blue)

Alight at Sheung Wan station
Took Exit E2 at Sheung Wan station. Any guesses where I'm headed? 😂

Done with breakfast at about 8.45am and decided to try to find my favourite egg tart! 😋
Finally found this wall
Then as I walked further, I found Lyndhurst Terrace.


                                     




So I supposedly just finished breakfast, but how can I miss my favourite egg tart since it is just in the vicinity?

Not sure why is it so, but even though there are many different Tai Cheong Bakery branches spread across Hong Kong, I only like the egg tart at the Central branch.

After enjoying my egg tart, it was time to head to Causeway Bay for my hair appointment. I've been wanting to do my hair for quite some time and since I had time in Hong Kong, and after googling the good salons in Hong Kong, I decided to get my hair fixed in Hong Kong.

Walked past Tsui Wah while on the way to the station but as you can tell, I didn't have anymore tummy space for food!

It started to drizzle a little as I was coming out of the station.

I really enjoyed doing my hair there (took 3 hours to cut, dye, wash, treatment my hair). I love how they don't hard sell and their services are value for price! Definitely going back there when I next need a hair fix!

With that I headed home! Home sweet home, but I was definitely glad to have had some time in Hong Kong!!!

Onto our second day in Seoul, one which we would probably theme it the cultural experience of Seoul! First stop of our itinerary was the Bukchon Hanok Village... I have heard a lot about the village, that it is one of the districts in Korea filled with traditional type of Korean houses, otherwise known as Hanok. The main thing that attracted me to this place of interest was the photo spots. There are basically 8 photo spots which would take you through a tour through the village, where you would find the 8 distinctive spots to photograph the beautiful, rich in history Bukchon Hanok Village. How to get there? Alight at Anguk Station (Seoul Subway Line 3). From Exit 2, go straight for about 300m to arrive at Bukchon Hanok Village. Layover in Tokyo, Japan (25 Jun 2018)

In my recent business trip to San Jose, I transited at Tokyo, Japan for my connecting flight to Los Angeles. That also gave me my first opportunity, or excuse rather, to visit Japan, finally! I have heard so much about this city, but being there, felt surreal! So my flight to Tokyo (HND) was due to arrive at 5.50am but it landed 1/2 hour earlier instead! So that gave me an extra 1/2 hour in Japan! Hooray!!! 😆 And the first experience of punctuality! The flight I took from Singapore to HND was Japan Airlines and I have to say I'm impressed! It is one of the healthier choice you can get for airplane food! In flight meal - look at the green tea!!! And the rice was super tasty too! Just before landing, the air stewardess gave us the arrival cards to fill in. There are 2 forms to be filled in.  Front Back Upon arrival, follow the arrival sign to clear customs.  The queue to clear immigration was super long so it took me a good 45 mins before I manage...

Day 2 of our R(est) & R(elax) Holiday in Penang, Malaysia! (14 March 2014, Friday)

Kind Notice: This is a PHOTO-HEAVY BLOG POST... Our hotel room in Flamingo Hotel by the Beach came with buffet breakfast, so we delighted ourselves in the variety of food made available. Flamingo Cafe - time for breakfast! Chicken Porridge  Somehow always found that Malaysia does their porridge very well and I've always liked it... Prawn noodles The prawn noodles was a bit bland in our perspective. Western choices Have to admit that they did their chicken sausages really well that we went back for another serving... Cereal time! I am personally not a fan of cereals but I have somehow fell in love with cereals after this trip! Fruits Ended our breakfast with healthy fruits! Then we went back up to the hotel room, took our luggage down and prepared to check out and headed off to George town, Penang.
